Dalton George (Candidate for Boone Mayor), and Adrian Tait (new Candidate for the Boone Town Council)
Todd Carter (Running for another term on the Boone Town Council)
During fall, your thoughts might turn to local muncipal elections. Three candidates from the area came to meet with us during our October meeting. They introduced themselves and gave us some good reasons to vote for them. Helping to choose your city, state and federal officials by using your vote is one way to impact and improve the world around you. Make your voice heard!
Hilda Downer, Poet Laureate for Watauga County, read one of her original poems to start our meeting.
Angi Kornhause introduced the initiative called Politics and Postcards. This method of reaching out to politicians, through the use of Postcards, can be an effective way to let them know how you feel about the job they are doing and where they can make improvements. Great way for folks who might not be as comfortable using email to comunicate.
