Clara Coffey from "Casting Bread" was our speaker for the meeting. She updated us on the flooding of the building they occupied during Huricand Helene. She told us how they quickly pivited so they could continue their work to serve the community. Their mission is to offer client-choice free food market and free lunch for ALL at Casting Bread Canteen. They are located on Aho next to Faith Bridge United Methodist Church. Group picture in the sanctuary of Deerfield United Methodist Church where our Watauga County chapter of NCRSP meets in the fellowship room. We are gathered around a baby grand piano donated by Beth Carrin, an active member of our chapter and also a member of Deerfield church. She retired from the Watauga County Schools, having taught for many years at both Hardin Park and Parkway Elementary school. She passed away on April 14, 2024.
