Our August meeting is always on the first day of school for Watauga County. We celebrate by enjoying a wonderful breakfast provided by Norm and Karen Crotts and giving gift certificates to all the new teachers for the county school system. The school year 2024-2025 begins!

As part of our "THIS IS US", a format we will continue throughout the year with members giving a 5-minute Show and Tell about hobbies, special interest or talents, Nanci Tolbert-Nance pictured above shared her Blanketeers who make small blankets for children to share through non-profit organizations. Pictured on the left are some of the other individuals who are part of this group.

Seated on the left above is Saralyn Kader, who shared with us her volunteer work at the Blowing Rock Community Library. They are open Mon./Wed./Fri./Sat. from 10:30AM - 4:00PM (closed Tues. & Thurs.). If you have any books you would like to donate, they will be happy to take them. Sale of these books will be used to help fund the library.
