Description
Alstonia scholaris is a tree that are commonly found on the islands of Java and Sumatra. The local names pule, lame, lamo and jelutung. The wood is not too hard and is not preferred for building materials because the wood warps easily when damp. It is widely used for making wooden household utensils and carvings and statues. This tree is widely used for reforestation because the leaves are shiny green, lush and wide to the sides so that it gives coolness. The skin is used for medicinal raw materials. efficacious for treating sore throats and others.
