#1 Select Physical Therapy Wellness Presentation
Officials' CARE Program
Select Physical Therapy: Officials' CARE Program
Officials' CARE Program:
The goal of the program is to provide a platform offered by Select Physical Therapy to all CIAC Officials focusing on PREVENTION, RECOVERY, INJURY ASSESSMENT, & DIRECTION of CARE/TREATMENT for musculoskeletal injuries; allowing them to continue & return to officiating the sport they love in a healthy & safe manner. We want to offer a high level quality of care service to all officials to receive the same care the student athletes do.
As described above the program would consist of 4 major areas of focus:
1: PREVENTION:
Prior to each season Select Physical Therapy would offer complimentary training at yor pre-season officials meeting; focusing on pre-season strength and conditioning, prevention of musculoskeletal injuries, dynamic warm-up drills and post activity stretching and self-home care.
Throughout the season we would provide informational material through different mediums for athletic activity maintenance.
2: RECOVERY:
We understand the toll multiple number of games per week can have on the body. We understand how those multiple games per week can have a negative impact on your bodies. Your recovery from muscle soreness, and aches, and pains is crucial to your performance on and off the field.
Select Physical Therapy is currently working on designating certain offices as "Officials' Recovery Clinics" providing state of the art recovery modalities and recovery sessions. These sessions would be with an athletic trainer for a nominal fee for any official to access multiple times a week if needed to aid in their own recovery.
3: INJURY ASSESSMENT:
Select Physcial Therapy offers a complimentary Injury Hotline. Unfortunately, injuries happen and Select is here to help. Officials will have a dedicated toll free phone number they can call to access an athletic trainer to seek help regarding non-life threatening injuries.
The alhletic traniner will provide an injury consultation telephonically to help aid, direct, and expedite care for the officials.
Officials will be able to have priority access for a complimentary injury assessment performed by a licensed physical therapist or licensed atheltic trainer in any of our outpatient centers.
4: DIRECTION of CARE/TREATMENT:
As stated above, Select Physical Therapy has over 65 outpatient physical therapy offices in CT that are available for your sports medicine therapy needs. CIAC officals will have priority access to receive formaalized physical therapy, if needed.
With our extensive staff in CT, we have many relationships with the best orthopedics in the state. If you need to see an orthopedic, we can assist with getting you an appointment, often times much quicker than if you were to call yourself.
