Lauren grew up in the small town of Eustis, Florida, where she soaked up the heat and humidity. She then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, and completed her B.S. at Furman University with the insane double major of chemistry and music. After graduation, she moved back to Central Florida and became a Safety Data Sheet author. Lauren is now a fifth year graduate student conducting research that broadly falls under the category of peptides as therapeutics, focusing on the development of a peptide inhibitor of a protein-protein interaction. Looking towards the future, she hopes to enter the field of scientific writing. When not in lab, she spends her time reading, making music, and experimenting in the kitchen, generally with delicious results.
