Billy Treacy
Graduate Student at UCLA
B.S. Chemistry
B.A. Mathematics
Billy was born in Rochester Hills, MI and raised in Rogers, AR where he went hog wild for the Razorbacks. Robert K. Lee at Rogers High School opened little Billy's eyes to the wonders of chemistry at an early age, and his hunger for learning science in addition to monster dunks has only increased during his time at UNC. Billy is currently pursuing a B.S. in Chemistry as well as a B.A in Mathematics, which means his socialization skills are exactly where you would guess, but his gruff, reserved nature has been cast aside upon joining the Waters Group. This blossoming young scientist is studied the role of noncovalent networks in catalysis through beta hairpin model systems in the Waters Lab. Billy is currently attending grad school at UCLA where he joined both the Maynard and Houk groups where he studies bioconjugation techniques both experimentally and computationally.
