Alex Mullins grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia where she also attended West Virginia University (Let's Go Mountaineers!). She majored in Chemistry, and minored in Business Administration & Tailgating Football Games. After studying new trifluoromethylation chemistry as an undergraduate in Dr. Jessica Hoover's lab, she continued her development as a researcher by pursuing graduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill. Alex has been involved with various UNC organizations during graduate school including Science in the Stacks, The Pipettepen Blog, and the Pre-Graduate Education Advisor Program.
