WaterMe helps users track plants, reminders, photos, notes, and plant-care history. This Privacy Policy explains what data WaterMe handles and how it is used.

1. Data stored by WaterMe

WaterMe may store the following information on your device:

- plant names, plant types, room or shelf locations, environments, and notes;

- plant photos or local photo references that you choose to add;

- reminder schedules, care tasks, snooze/skip/complete actions, and care history;

- app preferences such as notification settings, theme, measurement units, and profile name;

- character progress and other app state.

This information is primarily stored locally on your device using WaterMe’s app database and preferences storage. The “location” field in WaterMe means a plant place such as “Living room” or “Kitchen shelf”; WaterMe does not request or collect GPS location.

2. No account, ads, or sale of data

WaterMe does not require an account for local use.

WaterMe does not sell your personal data. WaterMe does not use advertising identifiers and does not show third-party ads.

3. Photos and files

When you choose a plant photo, WaterMe uses it only to display that plant inside the app. Only add photos that you are comfortable storing on your device as part of the WaterMe experience.

4. Notifications

If you enable notifications, WaterMe uses Android notification permission to send local plant-care reminders. You can disable notifications in WaterMe settings or in your device settings.

5. Feedback messages

If you choose to send feedback, WaterMe may send the following information to the WaterMe feedback service:

- feedback topic;

- message text;

- name and email address, if you enter them;

- WaterMe app version;

- Android SDK version;

- basic technical information processed by service providers when delivering the request.

Feedback is sent over HTTPS and delivered to the WaterMe support inbox. WaterMe may use service providers such as Cloudflare and Resend to receive and deliver feedback messages.

6. Payments and donations

If WaterMe offers optional support or donation features, purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. WaterMe does not receive your credit card or payment card details. Google Play may provide WaterMe with purchase status information needed to complete or process the purchase.

7. Backups

WaterMe data may be included in Android device backups if backups are enabled on your device and supported by the operating system. Backup handling is controlled by your device and Google account settings.

8. Data sharing

WaterMe may share limited data only when needed to provide app functionality, such as sending feedback through service providers or processing optional purchases through Google Play. WaterMe may also disclose information if required by law.

9. Data retention and deletion

Local WaterMe data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. You can remove local app data from WaterMe settings where available, or through your device’s app storage controls.

Feedback messages may be retained as long as needed to respond, improve the app, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations. You may contact WaterMe to request deletion of feedback information associated with your email address.

10. Children

WaterMe is not designed to knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Security

WaterMe uses local device storage for app data and uses HTTPS for feedback submission. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but WaterMe is designed to limit data collection to what is needed for the app.

12. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when WaterMe changes. The latest version will be shown in the app or on the official Privacy Policy page.
