Seven Way Tie !
A very exciting seven way tie break was the outcome after 8 rounds of the IMTA Team Maths Quiz held Friday evening in St Kieran's College, Kilkenny. Team scoring had been close throughout the evening with three teams tied heading in to the last round.
Once again Rosario explained the rules of the tie break. The quickest time would decide in the event of another tie. Thankfully the CBS Kilkenny team were outright winners and scored one more correct answer than their next nearest three teams.
The quiz was very well supported with 21 teams competing on the evening. CALMAST in WIT had kindly sponsored popular maths books as spot prizes and others prizes were provided by Waterford IMTA. St Kieran's College were absolutely marvellous hosts providing the venue and refreshments for both students and teachers. Thank you to Carl Hughes and the school President at St Kieran's.
Thank you also to the teachers from each of the competing schools for encouraging their students to participate and giving up their Friday night. Your help with the distribution, collection of questions and answers and marking the quiz answers is really appreciated.
Well done to the Waterford IMTA Committee for organising and running the most exciting of quizzes on the evening.
Next years quiz will take place Friday 25th January at 7pm sharp in CBS Kilkenny.
