This privacy policy applies to the Waterfall Nomad mobile application (herein referred to as "the App"). The App is a database of waterfalls in the UK, designed for users of all ages. I am committed to protecting your privacy and providing a transparent, safe user experience.
I believe in "Privacy by Design." The App is designed to function primarily offline and respects your data in the following ways:
No Personal Data: I do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.
No Accounts: You do not need to create an account or log in to use the App.
No Tracking: I do not use cookies, web beacons, or any third-party analytics to track your behaviour.
No Advertisements: The App is completely ad-free and contains no third-party advertising.
To provide its core functionality, the App utilises the following:
Location Services (GPS): The App requests access to your device's location. This is used only locally on your device to calculate the distance between your current position and a waterfall. I never transmit your location to my own storage or any third party.
Google Maps API: The App uses Google Maps to display locations. By using this App, you are also bound by the Google Privacy Policy. Google may collect technical data about your device and IP address to render maps correctly and optimise the service.
Other than accessing the Google Maps interface (which requires an internet connection), the database itself is stored locally on your device. This ensures that you can find information even in remote areas of the UK where mobile signal is limited or unavailable.
The App is intended for use by all ages. Because I do not collect any personal information, I do not knowingly collect data from children.
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on my website.
