WatchKeys Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 20, 2026
Overview
WatchKeys is a keyboard application for Wear OS devices. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data WatchKeys accesses and how it is used.
Data We Access
Microphone WatchKeys requests access to your device's microphone solely to enable the voice input feature. When you activate voice input by long pressing the space bar, your speech is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition engine (Google Speech Services). WatchKeys does not record, store, transmit, or share your voice data in any way. Audio is processed entirely on your device or by Google's speech services according to Google's own privacy policy.
Text Input WatchKeys processes the text you type in order to function as a keyboard. This text is never stored, logged, or transmitted by WatchKeys. All text input stays between you and the app you are typing in.
Settings WatchKeys stores your preferences (haptic feedback, flash animation, mic hold duration, preview strip) locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.
