Two Drivers Were Killed In A Head-On Collision Near Wasilla

Alaska State Troopers reported that a head-on collision on the Parks Highway in Mat-Su on Wednesday afternoon resulted in the deaths of two residents. According to troopers, the crash involved a 2005 Honda Pilot and a 2001 Chevrolet pickup when investigators responded to reports of it in Houston at 5:35 p.m. According to police, Melissa Keown, 53, was driving the Honda, and Michael Vial, 71, was driving the pickup. They both died during the collision at Mile 59 highway near Zero Lake Road. No other person was in one or the other vehicle. According to troopers, both had seatbelts on. As of now, spokesman Austin McDaniel stated that the collision's cause is being investigated. The highway was closed for over an hour and returned to one path at around 6:45 p.m. Read more
