In the very first database class we were taught how to design databases. For the final project of the course we were required to take the lab requisition form and make it electronic or how it would look or be designed in a database. Below is an image of the final paper base version of my database design for the lab requisition form before putting it it on MySQEL. This was one project that I learned a lot from and it enhanced my understanding of databases.

Solving Problems in Health care: Rates of PTSD amongst Paramedics
- In the solving problem class the major focus was to develop problem solving skills in health informatics through application of systems and process improvement methodologies. We used these skills towards the end and came up with a problem statement. We identify that there was a huge issue around rates of PTSD amongst paramedics compared to other first respondents there is very little help available for paramedics and no interventions in placed regarding decreasing the rates of PTSD in this group. Our socio-technological solution for this problem was developing a phone app that has few very quick questions that paramedics have to fill-up after each call and is totally anonymous. The survey results from this app would go to a different organization and results would be used to come up with solutions. We used the Human-Tech ladder approach, PDSA cycle amongst other improvement tools.

Clinical Systems: To Improve the Process of Identification of Eligible Kidney Donors at Community Hospitals
- In the clinical systems course gained exposure to clinical information systems by researching and documenting typical clinical workflows, scenarios and use-cases. For one of the projects I identified that there is a major gap when it comes to healthcare identifying patients who are kidney donors. Using the knowledge gained from this class about ClinicalConnect a clinical system I tried to solve this problem. User Training Workshop: ClinicalConnect
- Designed a 2 day training shop for users on how to use ClinicalConnect. The users were clinicians. This was the first workshop I have ever done. It was not just preparing a presentation but a workshop for adults. This was slightly different and challenging to do because adults were involved and it was in a real world setting. Below is the instructional plan and the presentation slides.

- Throughout the entire third database class we used a program called WebFocus APPStudio. We used this program to look at data from the hospital and do aggregations. For the final project as a group we made a dashboard for the hospital using WebFocus by looking at flow in the emergency department. Below is the picture of the dashboard, a slideshow explaining how and why it was done, and the requirement gatherings for it. This project took a few months and by the end we had changed our ideas for the focus of the project several times and added more thus, we had more than 2 mock-ups.
