After the sudden cancellation of Twin Peaks shortly after its second season, a feature-length prequel was conceived in order to explain certain mysteries left remaining. This story added several new characters to the story as well as returning favorites from the show. Several well-known actors make brief but memorable appearances, including: Kiefer Sutherland and Harry Dean Stanton and singers David Bowie and Chris Isaak. Unfortunately, it was not well-received by audiences & critics alike. For the film, David Lynch & crew returned to the great state of Washington to recreate the atmosphere originally established in the show's pilot episode.
The airport at the beginning of the film, where agents Desmond (Chris Isaak), Cole (David Lynch) & Stanley (Kiefer Sutherland) meet was the Fall City Airport, a small private airfield in WA.

Their next stop is the Deer Meadow Sheriff's Office, which was actually the ranger's house at nearby Olallie State Park. Several other scenes were shot nearby in the park, including: the two agents talking outside and the spot where Laura & Bobby later encounter drug-dealer Mike in the woods.

Also in this park along the Snoqualmie River were the scenes of Theresa Banks' body floating down the river, and the spot where Leland puts Laura's body in the water.
After examining the body, agents Desmond & Stanley head to "Hap's Diner," in search of information about Theresa Banks (and of course, for coffee). This is actually the Fall City Grill at 4046 Fall City Carnation Road SE in Fall City, WA, which is now a sports bar.
The "Fat Trout Trailer Park," where the FBI agents search for clues about Theresa Banks is located on Park Street (a small connecting road between SE 2nd Street & Meadowbrook Way) in Snoqualmie, WA. Many of the same trailers seen in the film are still there, including Theresa Bank's, which looks nearly identical today.

The FBI office scenes featuring David Lynch, Kyle MacLachlan, Miguel Ferrer & David Bowie were filmed in the former Cabrini Hospital building on the corner of Boren Avenue & Madison Street in Seattle. Sadly, this building was demolished in 1995 and replaced by the Cabrini First Hill Apartments.
The Palmer house was relocated for the film, this time it's at 708 33rd Street in Everett, WA.
Laura's crazy night from Hell begins at the "Bang Bang Bar" - actually the Fall City Roadhouse at 4200 Preston-Fall City Road SE in Fall City.
Donna Hayward (this time played by Moira Kelly) lives at 3316 Grand Avenue in Everett.
This time around, exterior & interior shots of "Twin Peaks High School" were shot at Snohomish High School at 1316 5th Street in Snohomish WA.
The Blue Diamond Motel was shot at Mt. Si Motel at 43205 SE North Bend Way in North Bend, WA. Laura & Ronette's room still maintains the distressed look the art department created for the film.
Leland and Laura are driving on Southeast Reinig Road east of Snoqualmie when the One-Armed Man (Al Strobel) starts chasing after them. The railroad bridge is the same one Ronette was seen walking across in the pilot episode of the show - which no longer crosses the road.

"Mo's Motor" - at the intersection of Southeast Park Street & Meadowbrook Way in Snoqualmie, WA was where Leland & Laura are harassed by the One-Armed Man. Shots from this location were also used as establishing shots in the show.
The exterior & interior of the "RR Cafe" where Laura & Shelly work was again Twede's Cafe at 137 West North Bend Way in North Bend.
From the parking lot of the cafe, Laura looks up Bendigo Boulevard toward the railroad crossing and notices Mrs. Tremond & her creepy mask-wearing grandson.
A special thanks to In Twin Peaks, where I got most of this information.
