The first major motion picture to use Seattle for a backdrop, Tugboat Annie was based on the series of popular stories from the Saturday Evening Post. Marie Dressler stars as Annie, who operates the "Narcissus" with her husband Terry (Wallace Beery). The real star of the film, the Narcissus was played by the Arthur Foss - an 1889 tugboat with an incredible history.
Today, the Arthur Foss is on display at the Historic Ships Wharf in South Lake Union Park, Seattle.

The port where the Narcissus was based in the film was actually Lake Union, where the Arthur Foss still resides. The Aurora Bridge, completed in 1932, can be seen in the distance.
