The Off Hours is a locally-produced independent film that focuses on the lives of several characters whose lives intersect during the evening hours at a roadside diner. The film was primarily shot in the south Seattle area.
The diner used for the film was Ed's Number 1 Cafe at 11221 1st Avenue South, Seattle. The cafe had stood empty before the film crew brought it back to life for filming. During shooting, several people stopped in thinking it was once again open for business.
Jelena (Gergana Mellin) finds Stu (Tony Doupe) at the Royal Choice Laundry at 4012 South 140th Street in Tukwila.
Francine (Amy Seimetz) sees Jelena leave the Motel Georgian at 8801 Aurora Avenue North in the Greenwood area of Seattle.
Jelena lives in the Lighthouse Apartments at 9820 Des Moines Memorial Drive South in Burien. Sadly, the building was consumed by fire on July 24, 2011.
