Cameron Crowe's sophomore directorial effort depicted the lives of a group of Seattleite singles and their struggles to find romance in the city. This film did an excellent job depicting early nineties Seattle and the rising grunge scene - even featuring members of local bands Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains in cameo roles.
Opening shots depict several Seattle landmarks, including the Space Needle, and this shot overlooking the skyline and Elliott Bay.

The Java Stop where Janet (Bridget Fonda) and Cliff (Matt Dillon) work was located in the O.K. Hotel, which is located under the Alaskan Way viaduct in Pioneer Square at approximately 212 Alaskan Way South.
Cliff (Matt Dillon) is seen at Jimi Hendrix's grave site at Renton's Greenwood Cemetery at 350 Monroe Avenue NE. In 2003, his remains were moved to a lavish new memorial also on the premises.
The "Pioneer Square Newsstand" was built by the film crew on the side of the J&M Cafe at 201 1st Avenue South in Pioneer Square.
