Another one of the films most often associated with Seattle, although only the scenes without the actors were shot there, everything else was shot in Los Angeles. Cameron Crowe's iconic 80s romantic comedy features John Cusack as Lloyd Dobler, the average Joe who wants a shot at Diane (Ione Skye) the spoiled valedictorian.
In the opening driving shots, Lloyd's car is seen passing by an odd teapot-shaped building. This is Bob's Java Jive at 2102 South Tacoma Way in Tacoma. It was also used in "I Love You To Death."
Though Bel-Square Mall is actually in Bellevue, the site of their "controversial first date" (seen when Lloyd drives past it at the beginning of the film) was actually Westlake Mall in downtown Seattle. Lloyd drives past the entrance on Pine Street between 4th & 5th Avenue.
Corey's (Lili Taylor) house is located at 6507 Parker Ct. NW in Ballard.
Lloyd is seen driving on southbound I-5 just south of the Lakeview Blvd. overpass, and further north in front of Lake Union and the Zymogenetics building at 1201 Eastlake Avenue East.
The statue that Diane & her father drive past before the graduation ceremony is called "Waiting for the Interurban" and is located at the intersection of North 34th Street & Fremont Avenue North in the Fremont area of Seattle. The Aurora Bridge is in the background.
The bridge with the "Welcome to Seattle" sign that Lloyd drives over is the east side of the Lakeview Boulevard bridge over I-5.
Diane & her father (John Mahoney) drive down North 35th Street past the former Auditorium Cleaners at 3501 Fremont Avenue North, Seattle. This was also used in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.
The graduation scene was filmed at Santa Monica College Amphitheatre, which sadly is no longer standing (thanks to Iamnotastalker).

When Lloyd & Diane drive Mike home after the party, they drive north on the Alaskan Way Viaduct (Highway 99) toward downtown Seattle (from the stadium district). This has since been torn down in a years-long process.

In an extended scene on the DVD, Lloyd & Diane are driving Mike home and drive past Dick's Drive-In at 111 NE 45th Street in the Wallingford area of Seattle.
The sidewalk in front of the 7-11 at 11340 Magnolia Boulevard in North Hollywood, California is where Lloyd stops Diane from stepping on broken glass. This is across the street from the park featured in the famous "boombox" scene.
