The exterior shots of the mansion (though digitally-altered in nearly every shot) were done at Thornewood Castle Inn at 8601 North Thorne Lane SW in Tacoma, WA.
All interiors of the mansion were built in three of the former aircraft hangars at Sand Point Naval Base in Magnuson Park, Seattle. These hangars have been used in numerous productions since.
The house at 2200 33rd Avenue South in Seattle was used in the show.
Another house at 927 21st Avenue East in Seattle was also used.
The dome of the Arctic Building in Seattle was used as Rose Red's library ceiling.
