Mark Whalberg stars as Chris Cole, a rock star wannabe who leads a tribute band for his favorite 80s metal group Steel Dragon. One day he gets the chance to try out as the replacement for their lead singer and his life is never the same again. This film was mostly shot in the Los Angeles area, but toward the end of the film scenes take place in Seattle.
The two montage scenes of the line of tour buses were shot somewhere on the roads outside Waterville, WA. This includes the shot of Ghode (Zakk Wylde) blasting holes in a road sign with a shotgun and the scene of Emily (Jennifer Aniston) riding in the limo.
