Hot Rod (2007)

Yet another to add to the "Set in Washington but filmed in Vancouver" list, sadly. This hilarious comedy stars Andy Samberg as wannabe stuntman Rod Kimble. Set in the fictional town of "Parkdale, WA" it was actually filmed entirely in the Vancouver area in the summer of 2006.

Rod's house is at 17851 57A Avenue in Surrey, BC.

Rod jumps off the sidewalk at the corner of 176 Street & 56a Avenue in Surrey. This was part of a deleted scene that featured him showing off in front of teenagers on his scooter.

Rod gives a little performance then advertises his upcoming pool jump in front of a group of kids at a playfield not far from his house in Surrey.

Rod and friends are seen throughout the film hanging out at Lost in the 50s Drive-In at 7741 Edmonds Street in Burnaby.

Rod takes Kevin (Jorma Taccone) home on his scooter, turning off 58 Avenue onto 176 Street in Surrey.

The swimming pool jump was filmed at Greenaway Pool at 17901 60 Avenue in Surrey.

The guys hang out with Dave (Bill Hader) at work at "Parkdale Community Ice Rink" - actually Cloverdale Arena in Surrey.

The convenience store where they first meet Jonathan (Will Arnett) is Food Folks at 5790 176A Street in Surrey.

Rod drives down Pemberton Avenue past West 14 Street in North Vancouver on his way to the double date.

In one quick scene, we see Rod being hit by a dryer under the Pattullo Bridge on the Surrey side.

The "2 Legit 2 Quit" scene where Rod is hit by the van was once again at the corner of 58 Avenue and 176 Street in Surrey.

Dave skateboards by Ken's Cafe & Restaurant at 5696 176 Street in Surrey.

Rod drives Dave to the hospital, passing the Corner Cafe at 1490 Pemberton Avenue in North Vancouver.

The guys triumphantly walk down 176 Street in downtown Surrey (between 57 & 56a Avenues) and unintentionally start a riot.

The big bus jump was erected in an empty lot to the north of Fraser Downs Racetrack in Surrey.
