Phil Campbell (Jason Biggs) has just been fired from his job at The Stranger, and finds himself reluctantly accepting the job of campaign manager for his idealistic friend Grant (Joel David Moore) - who decides to run for Seattle city council for no other reason than to remove the incumbent (Cedric the Entertainer).
