This 1982 film starring Jessica Lange tells the true story of 1930s film star Frances Farmer, who was actually from Seattle. Scenes in the film dart back and forth between Los Angeles, Washington, and New York City - and sometimes it's hard to tell which is which!
The lighthouse seen in the opening as Frances walks along the beach is the Fort Lawton West Point Light in Discovery Park in West Seattle. Several establishing shots are shown from park viewpoints.

At the end of the film, Frances leaves the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, where she sees Harry one last time.
