This film is set in the 1960's and follows Helen (Joanna Going), a housewife who has succumbed to the debilitating effects of multiple sclerosis. Her husband Bill (Dylan Walsh) is a teacher at Mount Eden, a fictional New England boy's school. He struggles to keep one of his most talented students (Sean Patrick Flanery) focused while trying to understand Helen's condition and the strange out-of-body experiences she has been having. The entire film actually took place in Washington State.
Several of the exterior shots of Mount Eden were filmed at the University of Washington in Seattle. This is Denny Hall.
