This independent horror feature filmed in Seattle & Astoria, Oregon. Based loosely on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, the film follows Russ (Jason Cottle) as he returns to his coastal hometown to investigate the goings-on of a mysterious cult led by his own father (Dennis Kleinsmith). The film showcases some great scenery around the Pacific Northwest.
Russ' apartment at the beginning of the film was next to Pike Place Market in an apartment at 1425 Western Ave. Seattle. This is also where he looks out at Elliott Bay.
Russ crosses the Astoria-Megler 101 Bridge into Astoria.
His car is also seen crossing the 101 bridge to Warrenton, on the south side of Astoria. This same view is seen again at the end of the film.
The SUV crash sequence was on 190th Place SE on Cougar Mountain in Issaquah, WA.
The exterior shots of Dannie's (Cara Buono) house where the cult meets (and where the shootout with police takes place at the end) was at 5332 South Kenyon Street on Rainier Beach in Seattle. The interior shots were shot at 906 14th Avenue East on Capitol Hill.
Russ reflects on his past while walking along the Astoria Riverwalk between 13th & 14th Streets.
The old net shed where the Dagon cult meets is at the end of 31st Street in Astoria. The actual interior was used as well.
Russ' motel room in Astoria was at the Lamplighter Motel at 131 West Marine Drive.
The interior bar shots where Russ is reunited with Mike (Scott Green) were filmed at the Nine Pound Hammer at 6009 Airport Way South in Seattle.
The hilltop viewpoint seen in flashbacks was shot at the Astoria Column on Coxcomb Drive, on the SW side of the parking lot. The view looks to the south. Later in the film, there's a shot of Russ looking out at the town from the north side of the parking lot.
A number of scenes in the film were shot at the "Landmark on the Sound" Masonic Retirement Center at 23660 Marine View Drive South in Des Moines. The asylum scene where Russ meets with his aunt, the library scene, college scenes, and Dannie's shop scenes were all filmed here.
The old dock at the end of 5th Street in Astoria was where Russ has flashbacks of his youth.
Mary Todd's Workers Tavern at 281 West Marine Drive in Astoria was used for exterior shots of the bar.
The liquor store was filmed at the Warrenton Liquor Store at 1673 East Harbor Street in Warrenton, OR.
The dock where Russ learns about the cult from Zadok is at the Columbia Maritime Museum at 1792 Marine Drive in Astoria.
The sea lion caves where Susan (Tori Spelling) works were the actual Sea Lion Caves at 91560 Highway 101 in Florence, OR. A couple shots of Heceta Head Lighthouse to the north are shown from this point.
The polar bear scene was filmed at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium at 5400 N Pearl Street in Ruston, WA.
The actual underground tunnels in Seattle were used as the tunnel Russ explores and finds the fish babies. The section used was under the Bread of Life Mission at 97 South Main Street in Pioneer Square. Bill Speidel's Underground Tour takes you through the spots used in the film.
Several sets were filmed at the former Consolidated Works at 500 Boren Avenue North in Seattle. One scene was the sheriff's office.
An old auto garage on 14th Street on Capitol Hill was used as a stage for the film. The jail cell, sewer tunnel, Russ' bedroom, and antechamber were all sets built here. The building has since been torn down & replaced with condos.
Russ emerges from the underground tunnel outside the Pier 11 Mall at the end of 11th Street in Astoria.
The parade scene took place at the corner of Duane Street & 12th Street in downtown Astoria.
The auction house where Russ is arrested is called Alderbrook Station and is located at the corner of 49th Street & Ash Street in Astoria.
The exterior of the jail was filmed at the old Clatsop County Jail at 732 Duane Street. This location should look familiar to "Goonies" fans. It now houses the Oregon Film Museum.
The backside of the Astoria High School stadium at John Warren Field on Exchange Street is shown briefly. This location was also used in The Goonies.
The street corner where Russ bumps into Susan is outside the old Bank of Astoria building, now the Columbia River Day Spa at 1215 Duane Street.
The interior of the mansion where Russ views the tape made by his father was filmed at the Stimson-Green Mansion at 1204 Minor Avenue in Seattle.
The beach where the fish people came from the sea was filmed at Del Rey State Beach in Oregon. It was also used for various other beach "dream" shots in the film.
The shots of Russ & Mike driving along the water while chaos breaks out were filmed along Highway 101 just north of Astoria on the Washington side.
The flashback beach scenes and the climactic scene on top of the grassy hill were filmed at Del Rey State Beach in Oregon. The exact spot is just NW of the parking lot. The flashback scene of Russ running through a field was filmed in this park too.
