Yet another Jeff Bridges-starring movie set in Seattle (he was also in Fabulous Baker Boys & The Vanishing), this film follows the story of ex-con Jack (Bridges) and his son Nick (Edward Furlong, fresh out of T2) as they relocate to Seattle for a fresh start. However, Jack's past soon catches up to him as his old buddy Rainey (Don Harvey) tracks him down, and he must do all he can to keep Nick from following in his footsteps.
The shots on the highway appear to be I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass.
A Seattle film wouldn't be complete without a Pike Place Market shot, so here Jack & Nick walk in front of the world-famous sign near Pike & 1st Avenue.
Jack begins work as a window washer, and he's shown working just below the roof on the north side of the Columbia Center at 701 5th Avenue (above Columbia Street). This is the tallest building in Seattle and on weekdays you can take in the same view for about $5 on the 73rd floor's SkyView observation deck.
Jack & Nick's apartment is in the Angletree Apartments at 1712 Summit Avenue on Capitol Hill.
Nick goes to Garfield High School at 400 23rd Avenue in Seattle (thanks to Sammy). This is the entrance on the north side.
The pier where Jack & Nick hang out is Pier 48 on Elliott Bay.
The store that Nick & his friend walk past is at 3650 Wallingford Avenue.
The "sunken ship" triangular-shaped parking garage where Nick's street friends hangout is at the corner of James Street & Yesler Way in Pioneer Square.
Charlotte's house is at 3632 Densmore Avenue North in Wallingford.
The spot where the taxi pulls over & where they later hang out is on Alki Avenue West by Alki Beach in West Seattle.
Nick & his new buddies go cruising down Stewart Street at the intersection of 2nd Avenue. They drive past the sign for the St. Regis Hotel, which was demolished in 2004.
Bar scenes were filmed in the Zoo Tavern at 2301 Eastlake Avenue East.
The peepshow theater where Nick finds Molly's mom working was the now-closed Lusty Lady at 1315 1st Avenue, near Pike Place Market.
Nick shoplifts at the Westlake Center. I'm not sure of the exact spot, but it might have been near the corner of 5th & Pine.
The scene where they take a bike ride together I believe was along the dock area to the south of Pier 48, because it is in the background.
Nick and Molly roll down a grass hill at the corner of 3rd and University, across from the Seattle Tower at 1218 Third Avenue. Benaroya Hall, built in 1998, now stands in this spot.
The 521 Cafe at 521 3rd Avenue is where Jack & Charlotte share a meal.
The storefront Nick is looking in is now The North Face store at 1023 1st Avenue. This is where the old guy pulled up and tried to drive off with him.
Rainey finally tracks down Jack while driving at the corner of Western Avenue & Marion Street. He runs his car up onto the curb on the NW corner. He sees Jack walking on the pedestrian walkway above, which leads to the ferry terminal.
The final confrontation between Jack & Rainey is on the pedestian walkways at the ferry terminal at the end of Marion Street.
