2017

In 2017, Mayor Gary Manier found himself up against the first challenger in his office since his initial election in 2001.  Don Volk was the challenger, but Manier won his re-election bid with a vote margin of 1673-970.  Manier's 1,673 votes in 2017 is the most votes ever received by a Washington Mayoral candidate in a contested race.

Jim Bremner was awarded the 2017 Washingtonian Award.

Erica Shangraw and Sierra Sonnemaker became the first WCHS tennis players to achieve all-state recognition.
