A tremendous explosion at the Sun Power Company on the south side of the square did tremendous damage in the city.
Myers’ Band was organized in 1895 by Meinhardt C. Martini, with the following members: Martini, Allison J. Myers, Harry E. Graham, T. E. Holland, Frank Wrenn, Ben Wrenn, Edward Wrenn, Van S. Mosley, Bert Bratt, Roland Ellis, Charles Corbin, Howard Long, Edward Berney, Sanford Tobias, George Sonnenman, Fred Aubertine.
Street lights were added to the square area for the first time in 1895.
