The International Conference on WAves and Stability in COntinuous Media (WASCOM) is a biennial scientific meeting that aims at gathering together researchers from various fields of Mathematical Physics. The University of Parma has the pleasure to host its 23rd edition which will take place on June 9-13, 2025.
This edition will feature two Special Sessions dedicated to celebrate the 60th birthdays of Prof. G. Saccomandi and Prof. M. Sammartino.
Since its first edition dating back to 1981, the WASCOM meeting has been an opportunity to foster scientific interactions between Italian and foreign researchers interested in stability and wave propagation problems in continuous media.
The main topics of the conference include:
Linear and nonlinear stability in fluid dynamics and solid mechanics
Nonlinear wave propagation, discontinuity and shock waves
Rational extended thermodynamics and symmetric hyperbolic systems
Kinetic theory and comparison with continuum models
Numerical applications
