Welcome to the home page of the Warren County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES).
Warren County ARES exists to provide emergency radio communications within Warren County, Iowa, when activated through the Warren County Office of Emergency Management or other recognized agency.
Warren County ARES consists of FCC-licensed amateur radio operators who have voluntarily registered the use of their time and equipment to benefit the community. Members continually hone their skills and maintain their own radio equipment, digital communications equipment, backup power systems, and associated supplies ready at a moment's notice, all at their own expense. In addition to providing emergency communications, Warren County ARES is also available to provide communications support for community events such as bike-a-thons, races, parades, and so on. Our members have experience supporting many of these events throughout the central Iowa area.
In conjunction with the Warren Amateur Radio Society, Warren County ARES maintains the use of three repeaters:
- N0FAM 147.195+, PL 114.8 (Echolink capable)
- N0FAM 444.125+, PL 114.8
- KD0FGV 146.640-, PL 114.8
The assigned Warren County ARES Simplex Operating Frequency is 146.565.
