Steam Ploughing - Wiltshire Steam & Vintage Rally

Welcome to the Wiltshire Agricultural Preservation Group

2021 Rally Announcment

It is with huge disappointment, that the WAPG Committee have cancelled the 2021 Wiltshire Steam & Vintage Rally. Whilst it was not the outcome we were holding out for, it is clearly the most sensible option, as we started 2021 with all the challenges that the previous year had set for us. There are likely to be ongoing restrictions, and without knowing what they might be, or the plans we would need to put in place, it would not be responsible of us to put on a show of this size. We also need to consider the risk to our guests , volunteers and exhibitors, and the undue pressure our event could put on the emergency services.

The future looks brighter, so we will instead plan a number of smaller events throughout the year that we can either ensure will follow COVID guidelines, or will take place when, hopefully, social distancing has been lifted. We can start planning the 2022 show now, in the hope that the world will return to normal as we reach the end of this year.

We know this will be disappointing. We all need some good news and something to look forward to, but our sentiment we made last year remains the same. We continue to be indebted to those in our communities, paid and volunteering, who are working so very hard and often putting themselves at risk, in order to help the country through this pandemic. It is their efforts that mean we will be able to see our friends and family again. We are sure that once we can hold our show safely, hopefully the 11th & 12th June 2022, we will be able to enjoy an evening sat by the beer tent, catching up with friends, and perhaps taking a few moments to soak up the atmosphere which we have been missing.

With best wishes for good health over the coming months
