How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a headset built specifically for clear calls and work, choose Wantek Headset; if you need long battery life and immersive music listening, choose Wentronic Y02. Both are wireless, both cancel noise, and both cost about the same kind of money — but they were clearly designed for two different jobs. One is a work tool. The other is an entertainment machine that happens to make calls too.
• Wantek Headset — biggest strength: A noise-canceling boom mic that cuts up to 96% of background noise, plus a retractable design and three ways to connect (USB dongle, Bluetooth 6.0, wired). This is a headset first, headphones second.
• Wantek Headset — biggest trade-off: On-ear cups with a 30mm driver and a 40-hour battery. Fine for calls and speech, less ideal if you want deep bass or all-day over-ear cushioning.
• Wentronic Y02 — biggest strength: 60 hours of playtime, a 40mm driver with deep bass and five EQ modes, and over-ear memory-foam comfort. Ten minutes of charging buys you four more hours.
• Wentronic Y02 — biggest trade-off: No boom mic. It relies on built-in mics, and it has no USB dongle — just Bluetooth 5.4 and a 3.5mm cable, with a shorter 33ft range.
• Who each is for: Wantek for call centers, remote work, Zoom/Teams meetings and study sessions. Wentronic Y02 for commuters, travelers and music lovers who take the occasional call.
The Wantek Headset (model WK186BT) is a purpose-built work headset, and every design choice points at that. The standout is the microphone: it's a boom mic that retracts into the housing when you're not talking, rotates to sit close to your mouth, and is tuned to eliminate around 96% of background noise. That's the kind of spec that matters when your caller is trying to hear you over a barking dog, a TV, or a busy office floor. The mic also has a working mute button, and it works whether you're connected by Bluetooth to a phone or through the USB dongle to a computer. One honest caveat from the spec sheet: the multi-function button answers and ends calls on a phone, but on a computer you'll still click with your mouse — and the MFB doesn't work with desk phones or landlines at all.
Connectivity is where the Wantek pulls ahead for anyone with a mixed setup. You get three paths: the USB dongle, Bluetooth 6.0, or a wired 3.5mm connection. That means you can leave the dongle plugged into a laptop, pair to your phone, and still have a cable as backup. It's listed as compatible with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, which tells you the target buyer clearly. Bluetooth range is quoted at up to 20 meters (about 49ft), so you can walk to the kitchen mid-call without dropping.
Comfort is on-ear with a lightweight build, an adjustable headband and soft protein-leather earcups. Wantek says the design minimizes pressure even over long stretches, and a 40-hour battery with a 2-hour charge supports that all-day-into-tomorrow rhythm. The driver is 30mm with a 20Hz–20,000Hz range, 32 ohm impedance and 116dB sensitivity — perfectly respectable for voice, podcasts and casual listening, but not a bass showcase.
Buy it if you spend your day on calls and need a mic that makes you sound clear. Skip it if your priority is music quality, over-ear comfort, or maximum battery — the on-ear fit and 30mm driver aren't aimed at that.
The Wentronic Y02 is an over-ear ANC headphone in green, and it's built around listening, not talking. Active noise cancellation here is tuned across the full 20Hz–20kHz range, which means it's targeting ambient noise broadly rather than just speech frequencies. That's the profile you want on a train, a plane, or in an open-plan office when you're trying to disappear into an album.
Sound is the headline. A 40mm dynamic driver with a composite diaphragm promises deep bass, rich mids and crisp highs, and there are five selectable music modes you switch with a knob — so you can move between rock, pop, electronic, jazz and classical without touching an app. Compared with the Wantek's 30mm driver, that extra surface area is exactly what gives the Y02 its "big bass" character. If you care about how music feels, this is the more satisfying of the two.
Battery is the other big win: up to 60 hours of playback at medium volume in standard mode, and a 10-minute fast charge that adds about 4 hours. For a long trip or a week of commutes, that's a genuine convenience no work headset can match. Comfort comes from skin-friendly PU protein leather and high-resilience memory foam over an adjustable headband, and the whole thing folds flat for a bag or suitcase.
The trade-offs are real. There's no boom mic — calls run through multiple built-in high-sensitivity microphones that suppress traffic, wind and crowd noise, which is good for occasional calls but not the same as a mic positioned at your mouth. Bluetooth is 5.4 with a quoted range of up to 33 feet (10 meters), shorter than the Wantek's 20 meters. And there's no USB dongle, so on a computer you're pairing over Bluetooth or using the included cable.
Buy it if you want long battery, over-ear comfort and music-first sound. Skip it if your day is back-to-back meetings and you need a dedicated boom mic.
• Best for call clarity → Wantek Headset. The retractable noise-canceling boom mic (96% background noise reduction) is the single biggest difference between these two.
• Best for battery life → Wentronic Y02. 60 hours versus 40, plus a 10-minute charge that returns about 4 hours.
• Best for music and bass → Wentronic Y02. A 40mm driver with five EQ modes beats a 30mm driver tuned for voice.
• Best for computer-based work → Wantek Headset. The USB dongle is plug-and-play for Zoom, Teams and Meet, with no pairing dance.
• Best for all-day comfort on big ears → Wentronic Y02. Over-ear memory foam versus Wantek's on-ear fit.
• Best for travel and portability → Wentronic Y02. It folds flat; the Wantek's ear cups rotate 180° but it's still an on-ear work headset.
• Best for a phone-plus-laptop mixed setup → Wantek Headset. Three connection modes in one device.
• Best for casual wearers → Wentronic Y02. If calls are occasional and music is constant, it's the more versatile everyday pick.
In my opinion, you should buy the Wantek Headset if your workday is the reason you're shopping — the boom mic, the 96% noise reduction claim, the USB dongle and the 40-hour battery are all aimed at making you sound professional on call after call. I'd pick the Wentronic Y02 for everything else: commutes, travel, study and music, where 60 hours of playtime and a 40mm bass-forward driver simply win. Decide which of those two people you are, and the choice makes itself.
The Wantek Headset, in my opinion. It has a retractable noise-canceling boom mic that sits near your mouth and a USB dongle for instant computer connection. The Wentronic Y02 relies on built-in mics, which is fine for occasional calls but not a dedicated call setup.
The Wentronic Y02, with up to 60 hours of playback at medium volume, versus 40 hours on the Wantek Headset. The Y02 also adds 10-minute fast charging for roughly 4 extra hours.
Yes — both include a 3.5mm jack, so each can run wired when you don't want to rely on Bluetooth. Only the Wantek Headset adds a USB dongle as a third option.
The Wentronic Y02, based on the specs. Its 40mm dynamic driver with a composite diaphragm and five selectable music modes are built for deep bass and detail, while the Wantek's 30mm driver is tuned more for speech. For prices, check the current price on Amazon before deciding.
