Tricky left Massive Attack to release his debut album Maxinquaye, co-produced by himself and Mark Saunders and prominently featuring singer Martina Topley-Bird.[18] The album was successful and Tricky consequently attained international fame, something he was notably uncomfortable with.[20] The Maxinquaye album review by Rolling Stone read: "Tricky devoured everything from American hip-hop and soul to reggae and the more melancholic strains of '80s British rock".[21]

When the Wnt/-catenin signalling pathway is in the off-state, a -catenin destruction complex (DC) is formed in the cytoplasm, comprising AXIN, the APC protein, GSK-3, CK-1, and -catenin. AXIN functions as a scaffold protein because it contains binding domains for other components of the DC, such as the DIX domain at the C-terminal side and RGS domain at the N-terminal side (the site interacts with the APC protein).14 The APC protein is located in the cytoplasm, and mutations in this protein cause Wnt pathway activation in human cancers. Current models of APC action emphasize its role as a component of DCs to promote -catenin degradation. Previous studies have shown that APC2 can only compensate for the role of APC as a component of DCs in promoting -catenin degradation.21 Saito-Diaz et al. found that APCs transduce Wnt signals through clathrin-mediated endocytosis via the clathrin endocytic pathway without the Wnt ligand in APC-depleted cells. Concurrently, they proposed that APC inhibited the formation of constitutive, ligand-independent, clathrin-dependent signalosomes and the unnecessary activation of the Wnt pathway.22 Wnt ligands induce the phosphorylation of LRP6 receptors, mainly mediated by GSK-3 and CK-1, and dual phosphorylation promotes the binding of LRP6 to AXIN. GSK-3 and CK-1 also induce the phosphorylation of -catenin in the absence of Wnt ligands. Phosphorylated -catenin is released from DCs and bound by Trcp-1 (also known as -Trap) for ubiquitination and subsequent degradation.23

Sarah Beth Morgan: Right. I think you hit it on the nose. They go hand in hand. You have to think about each one slightly differently. For example, since I did study graphic design, I learned a bit about typography and type design. You always want to fix the leading and the kerning to have visual balance, zero tension between all the letters. That's something that carries over into illustration. You don't want to have awkward tangents or too much tension between elements. You also want to create balance. There's a lot that goes hand in hand like understanding those underlying design principles. I think overall, I'm not always thinking about a grid as I'm illustrating. be457b7860
