Walt Chantry

Walt Chantry is an avid American Civil War historian. His research largely focuses on highlighting the stories of Confederate Generals. In his view, the stories of these generals, like Stonewall Jackson, are under attack and in danger of being erased by the modern public.

Civil War History

For much of his life, Walt Chantry has been passionate about historical research. A published author, Walt looks forward to releasing his research to the public in the near future!

Although he has studied numerous time periods in American history, Walt Chantry is most fascinated by the Civil War era. In recent years, the stories of Confederate Generals have become silenced. The modern public deems these generals unfit for celebration based on what is considered “politically correct” today. According to Walt, this is completely unfair. The present should never reshape or diminish the past. Although he understands why supporting the Confederate Generals has become modern taboo, he still intends to fight for their stories. Through his own research and writing, Walt looks forward to preserving the reality of the American Civil War.

Stonewall Jackson

Born Thomas Jonathan Jackson, but immortalized as Stonewall Jackson.

Stonewall Jackson served as a Confederate General in the American Civil War, earning himself the title of one of the best known and remembered generals of the war. He led troops at the Civil War battles of Manassas, Antietam and Fredericksburg. His service even caused him to lose an arm, which resulted in his death.

Walt Chantry has been fascinated by Stonewall Jackson’s story for much of his life. Now, he’s fighting to protect and preserve his story -- as it really happened. In the future, Walt looks forward to starting a blog that will discuss the battles Stonewall Jackson faced during the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War.
