This walrus was said to have been initially housed at the "Moscow Dolphinarium"; the only facility I am aware of operating under this name first opened to the public over a decade after this event.
Uchi was estimated to have been 3 months old in August of 1990.
Uchi became the world's oldest living female walrus in January of 2026, at 35 years of age. Her predecessor, Slowpoke, had passed away that month at approximately 47 or 48 years old.
