The Almaty Zoo has stated that their walrus was housed at the zoo in the mid-1970s. Video footage published by the zoo specifies a date of 1973 (though it was erroneously dated to 1981 by a secondary source, and the zoo itself stated it was filmed in 1937 by error, later corrected).
There is no further information regarding when this walrus arrived at the park and how long he lived -- 1973 is the only confirmed year he was present.
