Welcome to WallSwipe. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
WallSwipe is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not collect or transmit your personal data or configurations to our servers.
A. Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)
This information is stored in the app's private database on your phone or in shared preferences. It is never sent to us or any third party.
Repository Configurations: When you add a repository (like FTP or Custom API), we store the credentials you provide. This includes:
Repository Name
Server Address (FTP Host or API Base URL)
Login Credentials (Username and Password)
API Keys (for Custom API)
Remote Path This data is used only to allow the app to connect to your servers at your request to fetch wallpapers.
Liked and Disliked Lists: The app locally saves which wallpapers (from APIs or your Gallery) you have liked or disliked. This is used to display your lists in the "Liked" and "Disliked" tabs.
User Preferences (Tags): We locally save the interest tags you select (e.g., "nature," "space") to personalize the wallpapers fetched from the Pexels API.
Local Gallery References: If you use the "Local Gallery" feature, the app saves a reference (URI) to the images you select. The app does not copy or upload your personal photos.
B. Data Collected by Third-Party Services
We use external services to provide advertising and default content.
Google AdMob: Our application uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google may collect data to serve personalized ads, such as your device's Advertising ID (Ad ID), IP address, and information about your interactions with ads.
We do not have access to the data collected directly by Google. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Pexels API: We use the Pexels API to provide the default wallpaper stream. Pexels may collect anonymous data related to API usage as described in their own terms and privacy policy.
We request the following permissions to enable app features:
android.permission.INTERNET:
Necessary to download wallpapers from Pexels, your Custom API, and your FTP server.
Required to download and display ads (Google AdMob).
android.permission.SET_WALLPAPER:
This is the app's core function, allowing you to set a chosen wallpaper as your device's background.
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (on newer Android) / android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (on older Android):
This permission is required only if you choose to create a "Local Gallery" repository.
It is used exclusively to read the images that you select to add to the app. We do not scan your gallery without your action.
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (on Android 9 and older):
Required on older devices to temporarily save a wallpaper file before it can be set.
We take the security of your data seriously. All sensitive data (such as FTP passwords or API keys) is stored exclusively in the app's private, local database on your device, which is not accessible by other applications.
However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
