If pairing does not work for you, see the Backup Solution section at the bottom of this page to learn how to create mobile wallpaper packages (.mpkg) and how to import them on your mobile device.

In the Windows app, click on the Mobile button in the upper right corner of the user interface. The mobile device overview will open up. In the Wallpaper Engine mobile companion app, click on Add in the lower right corner, followed by clicking on Pair with Computer. The Wallpaper Engine app will search your local network for running instances of Wallpaper Engine for Windows. Your Windows computer should appear after a few seconds, allowing you to connect to it by clicking on it. If you are connecting for the first time, you will be asked to enter the 4-digit PIN (see Windows section above).

Once you have entered your PIN, the status bar in the mobile app turns green and shows which computer its connected to. On the Windows app, the Mobile button is also colored green now to indicate that a mobile connection is active.

You can now simply click on the Send to Mobile Device button on the right-hand side or right-click on any compatible wallpaper and select Send to Mobile Device, followed by selecting your device from the list.

Dynamic and interactive wallpapers that are of the Scene type will first be optimized for use on mobile phones and to ensure compatibility with mobile hardware. This process may take a short while. You will also be asked which quality option you would like to use, especially for high-resolution wallpapers, we recommend trying the Balanced option if you notice performance issues on your mobile device.

I want to make sure I don't lose this picture. The easiest thing for me is if I could just find where the wallpaper image is saved in the Android file system...but I can't find it, and googling hasn't been helpful.

You can personalise your device by setting your own wallpaper. Your device includes a selection of wallpapers to choose from, or you can use one of the photos or videos you've taken or downloaded. On some devices you can even choose to set a wallpaper that changes each time you use your device.

Please note: If you would like to use a wallpaper or image from the internet, you will first need to download it onto your device. You can usually do this by pressing and holding the image until you get a pop-up with the option Save Photo or Save Image. The image will then be saved in the Downloads folder in the Gallery.

Please note: The steps described below explain how to set your wallpaper if your device is running Android 10. If your device is running a previous version of Android, the steps may be different.

On most devices a menu will pop up, giving you an option to add widgets or change your wallpaper. On a device running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, I was instantly given the option to choose the source of my next wallpaper. If you're running Android 3.0 or earlier, you can change your wallpaper by pressing the Menu key while on the homescreen and selecting Wallpaper.

If you elect to get a wallpaper from your Gallery, you'll be able to choose from any photo saved on your device. After previewing and deciding on a photo, some OS versions will allow you to resize and crop the image to fit your screen. Others will simply set the entire photo as your wallpaper.

Live Wallpapers add an interactive element to your homescreen. Some live wallpapers allow you to tap on the screen and see a water rippling effect, while others display your current location on a map, complete with traffic and weather if you so desire.

There are plenty of great, free wallpaper or background apps in Google Play. My personal favorite is Backgrounds HD. It's ad supported, so you'll have to deal with the ads, but you won't pay anything for it.

The app is easy to use, giving you four random wallpapers on screen at a time. If you find one you like, you tap on it to view it and then are given the option to save and set it as your wallpaper. You can also search and browse by category, as well as create your own wallpapers from within the app.

I'd like to know if it's possible to change android wallpaper from ADB using my laptop. I don't know if exist any command for it or if I need to copy a picture into a folder or edit a text file. I need resolve this problem with ADB if it could be.

I would write a small Android app that uses a BroadcastReceiver or deeplink to an activity that listens for a specialized Intent. The intent would include data with a location to a file to use as the wallpaper. Then write code within the app that sets the wallpaper programatically. See Programmatically set android phone's background for help on that part. You can then send an intent via adb (see Sending intent to BroadcastReceiver from adb) that your code will be listening for and that would trigger updating the wallpaper. I'm not going to go into detail on how to implement that, but hopefully provide you with enough search terms to know how to implement it yourself.

If you don't have a photo in your Gallery that you want to use, you can browse for a new one. Your phone's wallpaper store has many professionally created wallpapers, some of which are even animated. However, most require you to pay for them.

I'm not sure if it's the same on older systems, but on ICS it appears to save directly to /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper. I set mine from the browser, pulled that file, then changed it to a .png extension and voil - it was the image I had set.

I was annoyed by the exact same problem, so I have programmed an app that automatically saves your wallpapers and your live wallpapers too. It makes it easy to revert to a previous wallpaper. It is called Wallpaper Saver, by Appdictive, and it's free in the Play Store. (It does not require root access.)

The location of the stock wallpapers is in an apk file that you should find on your device at /system/framework/framework-res.apk. Pull that file to your computer and then browse its internals. A search for a file with wallpaper in its name should prove fruitful.

There are too many smart phones and sizes, I have to create a lock screen for a client but dont know what size I should be designing, is there a standard size that applies to all? instead of creating separate sizes for different phones. Since wallpaper can be adjusted, wouldn't one large size fit all?

Other apps will even automate the process for you, making and setting new live wallpapers as often as you want. We love Muzei Live Wallpaper because it will give you a new live wallpaper featuring well-known artwork every day. Meanwhile, Forest Live Wallpaper provides you with forest-themed live wallpapers.

Download The University of Tampa images below and set them as backgrounds for your desktop, laptop, tablet or other mobile device. Determine the size of your monitor in system preferences. Click on the link to the size below. Right-click or tap and hold the image to save/set as desktop background.

Setting a TikTok video as a live wallpaper on an Android phone is easy but requires a lot of steps. Just open TikTok, find a video you like, tap the three dots on the right side of the screen, and hit the Set as wallpaper option. The app will then prompt you to download the wallpaper plugin from Google Play.

Open the plugin app and tap on Open TikTok to set wallpaper. When you do, a full-screen preview of the video will play, and if it looks good to you, you can tap Set as wallpaper, followed by Set wallpaper at the bottom of your screen. Android will then ask you to choose whether you want to set the video as your home screen background, or if you also want it on your lock screen.

To set it as a background, follow the same path you would use with a regular picture: go to Settings, Wallpaper, and Choose a wallpaper. There, scroll to the right folder, select the file you want, tap Set, and select where you want to use it. 2351a5e196
