Saint Asonia is the debut studio album by rock supergroup Saint Asonia. The album was released on July 31, 2015 through RCA Records.[4] It was released in European countries with two additional tracks on November 23, 2015.[5]

First announced via YouTube through a teaser in early May 2015, the first single "Better Place" was released on May 16, 2015.[6][7] This also confirmed the group's lineup, with Adam Gontier as the frontman, Mike Mushok being the guitarist, Corey Lowery as the bassist and Rich Beddoe as the drummer. Gontier's uncle Tom Duffy provided the bass tracks for some of the songs from the album, while Lowery was hired afterward.[8] They announced the release date and track list for the album on June 18, 2015 via Billboard.[4] The second single, "Let Me Live My Life" was released digitally on July 17, 2015.[9]

The album was received with mixed reviews. James Christopher Monger of AllMusic gave the album a 2.5 out of 5 star rating.[1] He criticized the songs for feeling like, "cast-offs from prior projects, with recycled melodies and lyrics that sound like they were derived from an angst-centric magnetic poetry kit." However he complimented some songs such as, "Better Place," "Dying Slowly," and "Blow Me Wide Open".[1] Johan Wippsson of Melodic called the tracks, "Better Place" and "Happy Tragedy" a harder and more straightforward version of Three Days Grace.[10] Michael Smith of Renowned for Sound stated that the album, "is obviously and unashamedly a heavy rock album at its core" and "highlights all of the best qualities of its members." However, he was critical on the track "Fairy Tale" for its repetitiveness both in sound and lyrics, as well as criticizing "King of Nothing" calling it "an especially noticeable low point on the album."[11] Ultimate Guitar said that the album is, "ready to please mainstream rock radio and guitarists alike with its brand of hard rock peppered with soulful (not kidding) ballads to boot."[2]

Saint Asonia (stylized as SINT SONI) is a Canadian-American rock supergroup consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Gontier, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Cale Gontier, and drummer Cody Watkins. In 2017, the band's original drummer, Rich Beddoe, left the band and was replaced by Mushok's Staind bandmate Sal Giancarelli, and one year later bassist and backing vocalist Corey Lowery left the band to join Seether and his place was taken by Gontier's cousin Cale Gontier. The band formed in Toronto, Canada in 2015 after Gontier's departure from Three Days Grace in 2013. Their second studio album, titled Flawed Design, was released on October 25, 2019. On January 26, 2020, Art of Dying drummer Cody Watkins became the new drummer for Saint Asonia replacing Sal Giancarelli.

In June 2015, the band announced that their debut self-titled album would be released on July 31 that same year via RCA Records featuring 11 tracks.[4] Johnny K was secured as the producer for their debut album.[7] The album's lead single, "Better Place", reached the US Mainstream Rock chart and the Canada Rock chart at number eight and number nine respectively.[8][9] The band premiered a new track titled, "Blow Me Wide Open", on June 29.[10] The album's second single "Let Me Live My Life" was released on July 17, 2015.[11] Their debut self-titled album peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 and sold 13,000 copies in its first week.[12] The album also topped the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart.[12] Saint Asonia embarked on a headlining tour in August 2015 in support of the album.[4] They also joined Seether in a fall 2015 tour.[13] In February 2016, Saint Asonia joined the first part of the 2016 Disturbed tour, as an opening act.[14]

On February 21, 2019, Saint Asonia announced that they signed with Spinefarm Records and that a follow-up album to their first album was in the works.[19] The group began recording their second studio album in 2019 with producer Brian Sperber.[18]

On July 24, 2019, the band revealed their new single "The Hunted" featuring Sully Erna. The song serves as the lead single from their second studio album Flawed Design.[20] On September 20, 2019, Saint Asonia released a new track, "Beast" and announced the release date of the album.[21] Flawed Design was officially released on October 25, 2019.[22] The album peaked at number 171 on the Billboard 200.[23] On January 26, 2020, it was announced that Art of Dying drummer Cody Watkins had joined the band as their new drummer replacing Giancarelli.[24] The group played three shows in Canada in March 2020 with The Standstills joining them.[25] The band was set to open for Alter Bridge on their Walk the Sky tour in the spring of 2020, as well as Breaking Benjamin on their summer 2020 tour, but due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, their tour with Alter Bridge was postponed and their tour with Breaking Bejamin was cancelled.[26][27]

I would argue that Flawed Design marks a huge leap forward from the ST album and even Adam has said that the lyrics are some of his best since One-X but what does the community think of these albums?

Cet album, Saint Asonia, atteint la 29e place du Billboard 200[2],; deux singles de cet album, Better Place et Let Me Live My Life, sont classs au Top 10 des charts du rock aux tats-Unis[3] et au Canada.

STAIND has released eight albums since 1995, including 2011's self-titled effort. The band has had a number of hit songs during its first two decades, including the Top 10 smash "It's Been Awhile" from the No. 1 album "Break The Cycle". Follow-up LPs "14 Shades Of Grey" and "Chapter V" also topped the Billboard chart.

STAIND released its first album in nine years, "Live: It's Been Awhile", in May 2021 via Yap'em/Alchemy Recordings. The "Live: It's Been Awhile" album was accompanied by "The Return Of Staind", a two-part global streaming series in partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents.

A Canadian rock/post-grunge "supergroup" featuring ex-Three Days Grace vocalist/guitarist Adam Gontier, Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, Eye Empire bassist Corey Lowery, and former Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe, Saint Asonia came into being after Mushok and Gontier began writing together just after the latter's split with his flagship band. Impressed with what they had managed to conjure up, the duo enlisted the rest of the crew and headed into the studio with producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Megadeth, Sevendust) to begin work on a debut long-player. "Better Place," the first single from the record, was issued in May 2015 with plans to release the ensuing full-length album later that summer.

Formed by Danny Hutton in 1968, Three Dog Night posted 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits between 1969 and 1974. That unprecedented streak included three No. 1 singles, 11 Top Ten hits and 12 straight Certified Gold albums. be457b7860
