The song's lyrics were about a couple's romance during the winter season.[1] A later version of "Winter Wonderland" (which was printed in 1947) included a "new children's lyric" that transformed it "from a romantic winter interlude to a seasonal song about playing in the snow." The snowman mentioned in the song's bridge was changed from a minister to a circus clown, and the promises the couple made in the final verse were replaced with lyrics about frolicking. Singers like Johnny Mathis connected both versions of the song, giving "Winter Wonderland" an additional verse and an additional chorus.[2]

Come enjoy the spirit of the holidays at the Wonderland Walk at Washington Park. As the title of the event implies walking will be involved and the event takes place outdoors so dress accordingly. We recommend you bring a flashlight to guide yourself through the event.

Winter and I have endured a somewhat frosty relationship over the years (excuse the pun!). With mediterranean blood pumping through my veins, my fair weathered tendencies would leave me longing for Summer amidst the harsh winter chills and dark drawn out nights. Thankfully my distain has thawed, giving way to infinite appreciation for its awe-inspiring beauty and metaphoric wisdom.

And with the winter sun lower in the sky, light takes on an ethereal quality. Shadows exaggerated and stunning silhouettes spring to life. The twinkling of Jack Frost glimmering on morning fields, snowflakes glistening in their geometric perfection, and blankets of snow, reminiscent of Narnia.

What I love most is the stillness winter brings. A serene sense of silence and peace as nature sleeps. A time of rest, rejuvenation and to turn inwards for reflection and introspection, sewing seeds for new beginnings come spring. Pregnant with expectation, winter brings with it a steady anticipation of whats to come. A great metamorphosis unfurling under the cloak of winter.

Paris Mountain State Park is located only 5 miles north of the city of Greenville and it provides the community with over 1,500 acres of park space to enjoy! If you are a local to the Greenville area you probably already know the awesomeness this park has to share right in your backyard. But experiencing it at a unique time after a snowfall hits is a different story. It gives us special opportunity to capture the beauty of our favorite places in a distinctive light and provides a different element that is beyond the norm! Come with me as I share my experience walking through a little winter wonderland at Paris Mountain State Park after we got a taste of some true winter weather!

My eyes were going bonkers over all the crazy-beautiful scenery, and I really wanted to take photos, but I had to figure out a way to protect my camera from the snowflakes that were falling from the sky (that would then melt into water and destroy my expensive camera), so we managed to track down a red blanket that I covered myself in like a little portable tent. It was tricky but it worked! This is Erik laughing at how stupid I looked walking around with a red blanket over my head:

In true farm kid fashion, Sarah Scharlau was born at the worst possible time in the middle of the harvest season. Christmas tree harvest season that is. Sarah is now a fifth-generation FarmHer at Pleasant Valley Tree Farm. Her farm is the perfect place to create country Christmas memories. Chatting with her for this episode FarmHer Talks feels like walking in a winter wonderland.

Mack 3E 6th-grade health when I saw the title winter wonderland I thought it was like a tree place and it was I have on in my town and when I read your story I want to visit mine sometime and look at the trees in the snow.

Whether you are staying in to enjoy the winter weather from afar or running into it head-on by going outside to experience the beauties of a snowfall firsthand, there is something for everyone when it snows. As college students, we have the freedom to do what we want, courtesy of the newfound independence that staying at school gives us. With the snow falling around us and the wind howling, this is just another one of those opportunities to take advantage of our situation. Look around at the white snow surrounding campus, transforming it into a winter wonderland. Embrace the beauty and the happiness, take a break from studying and look forward to a long winter season filled with new opportunities and fun adventures.

Our house is perched at the edge of a lovely park. Most weekends the park is buzzing with dog walkers and families, but when the snow came everyone stayed away. We went out for a walk on Saturday and barely saw another soul. There was one family sledding down a hill near where we snapped these pictures but otherwise it was like a blanket of silence has settled over the park along with the snow. It was actually pretty lovely; it made the whole expanse around us feel like a private winter wonderland frosted just for us. A perfect setting for a festive vintage dress. I have set a goal for myself to wear more vintage, which shouldn't be too much of a challenge for me since I do own a handful of vintage pieces and love shopping antique malls! And one of my favorite Etsy shops, Sweet Bee Finds sent me a few dresses that couldn't be more perfect for the season too. This green patterned dress seems made for the a white Christmas especially layered underneath a cozy knit and paired with sensible boots. Sometimes I forget how easy it is to wear vintage; you don't have to dress it up but can wear a pretty dress from the 1950s styled quite practically even in the most brisk months! Check out Sweet Bee Finds for more gorgeous vintage pieces and her Instagram is also a great follow for sales and a first look at what is coming to the shop.

The snowy, steep cliffs on the opposite shore of lake Vuori-Kalaja were impressive in their almost black and white glory. There is something special about a winter landscape that lacks all the vivid colors of the other seasons: a certain serenity. Everything stands still, all is calm.

A winter walk in the forests of Indiana is a different experience than that of spring or summer, but no less enchanting. It is quieter. You will not hear bees buzzing or see butterflies fluttering. Instead of lively energy, the stillness inspires a sense of peace. That is not to say you get a completely silent night; there are wildlife that stay home for the holidays.

A winter wonderland is close by. Red-tail Land Conservancy offers 11 public nature preserves in east central Indiana that are open from dawn to dusk. There is no entry fee or reservation required. As you explore these hiking trails, I hope you sing a new version of the holiday classic:

To create a winter wonderland Christmas cloche for the kitchen island, I just added a Christmas village house that I thrifted for a couple bucks. I love that it has a light in it! I also found that cute little piece with people passing firewood from the thrift store. There was TONS of Christmas village items when I started looking so definitely be on the lookout in your stores!

Thank you for walking in a Kitchen Winter Wonderland with me today! Next on the stop is Styled with Lace and be sure to check out the rest of the ladies sharing their Christmas homes with you- all linked below! e24fc04721
