Rebel Torture 2
Rebel Torture 2
Category: Audio
Information: Another torture session of Thomas Abernathy. In this session, he is questioned by Adam using both his own questions and questions sent in by other Hosted.
Transcript:
Adam: Thomas. I'm sure you've heard of me.
Thomas: You're Adam.
Adam: That's right. Today, it's my turn to ask questions. You've been held here for...24 hours now? I'm sure you're itching to talk.
Thomas: Are you going to be as clueless as the other one that came in?
Adam: The Tour Guide is not clueless. Neither am I. You know, you should count yourself lucky. There were many, MANY other members of the Hosted that wanted to get their hands on you. The pandemic and cleanup of the Observatory among other factors have kept them out. So I get you first.
Thomas: Lucky you.
Adam: Yes, lucky me. I have a lot to ask. A lot to consider.
Thomas: Before we start, tell me this. What did the Tour Guide mean yesterday that I might not die?
Adam: Oh well, I suppose you're being considered for our highest honor. Becoming one of us.
Thomas: No, no, no. Please, you have to stop them. I don't want -
Adam: Answer my questions first. Then we can talk about it.
Thomas: Okay. Anything you want.
Adam: First, how did you do it? Get into the Observatory systems?
Thomas: Hacking. We have this member of the rebellion - I don't know his real name. Or any of them.
Adam: Then how do you address him?
Thomas: We call him Sanders. You know, named after -
Adam: The founder of Walker Creek. I get it.
Thomas: He's a tech god. He's done a lot for us.
Adam: You know, I'm surprised at how easy you were to break.
Thomas: I'm not broken. I'm being strategic. I'm answering these questions so that you kill me. I don't wanna become one of you...things.
Adam: It's not my decision, Thomas. But if you keep this up, I'll see what I can do.
Thomas: It's nice to not get screamed at and threatened.
Adam: If you were being more difficult then that wouldn't be the case. I hope you don't start now - I've killed my fair share of humans.
Thomas: That's right. You're just like the rest of them.
Adam: What am I then, Thomas?
Thomas: A soulless abomination.
Adam: Oh Thomas, that's not very kind of you. I'm trying to help.
Thomas: I don't care.
Adam: Look Thomas, I have a series of questions for you from some Hosted that couldn't get their own session with you. You should know though, there are many that will have their own session with you. Some of them don't even want to ask you questions.
Thomas: What if they kill me?
Adam: That's why the Tour Guide and I get you first.
Thomas: You're insane.
Adam: No. We're doing what needs to be done. Onto the questions. The phrasing on these questions was strange so I took it upon myself to change it. First one - tell me about Nathaniel Topas. Do you know his face?
Thomas: No. Like I told your boss yesterday - I don't know his face or anything about him. Everything in the Rebellion is anonymous. How have none of you figured that out?
Adam: It takes time to learn details. Oh, this one is good. Is everyone in the rebellion a resident of Walker Creek?
Thomas: I don't know. Probably. I don't know any of them personally but from what they talk about, I'd guess they were.
Adam: Well then how many rebels are active?
Thomas: A hundred or two. Some are more serious than others. We're growing, Adam. You can't stop us.
Adam: Perhaps. Perhaps not. Next question: Do you think the rebellion will last?
Thomas: Yes. We wouldn't be doing this if we thought we'd lose.
Adam: What about David Trenson? Louise Peterson? We destroyed both of them.
Thomas: And we've learned from their mistakes.
Adam: Have you? Broadcast hijackings, secret meetings, bold attacks that almost lead to defeat. It's only a matter of time.
Adam: Well, I'll take your silence as acknowledgement. What did you expect to find in the Observatory?
Thomas: That's one question I won't answer.
Adam: I'm not taking no for an answer. That's the main reason I'm in here Thomas. Have some common sense.
Thomas: I can't answer it. Your other questions didn't directly jeopardize the rebellion. But I...I can't answer that.
Adam: Now you're making me angry by being such an idiot. I told you at the start -
Thomas: I know. Do what you have to.
Adam: This is going to get ugly then.
Thomas: What are you...what are you doing? What the hell did you just do with -
Adam: Our bodies have many benefits. Now tell me what I want to know or I will use this.
Adam: Tell me.
[Adam stabs him]
Adam: Answer the question.
Thomas: I can't...
Adam: The next session is supposed to start in...20 minutes. I guess I'll make it start now then. Maybe someone with more...physical skills than me can make you talk. And just so you know Thomas - I won't be talking to the Tour Guide on your behalf. I can't wait to start working with you. Or, well, one of us in your body at least.
Thomas: Burn in hell.
