What is it?
This FREE 10-week CNA training program through the Worcester Adult Learning Center and Worcester Night Life will provide classroom and clinical hands-on practice to work toward a state-recognized certification. This opportunity is intended to be a first step on a career path to economic self-sufficiency.
Please note: There will be a competitive application process for admission as limited spots are available. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements. This program is only for those with English as a second language.
What is earned?
Accepted students who successfully complete the program will earn:
Clinical Nursing Assistant Training Certificate of Completion
Home Health Care Aide Training Certificate of Completion
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Hand-in-Hand Dementia Training Certificate
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) Certificate
Students will also take:
Massachusetts Nurse Aide Certification Exam (If both sections of the exam are successfully passed, students will be placed on the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry.)
Who is eligible?
Applicants must be:
High level English language learner (*English as second language (ESOL) is required due to grant restrictions; however, proficiency in English as a second language is necessary.*)
18+ years of age
Currently authorized to work in the USA and have SSN
Have a Massachusetts driver's license or ID card
Current on immunizations (COVID, Flu)
Able to pass physical exam and TB test
Able to pass a CORI background check
Focused and committed to this intense program
Please note: This program is not for full-time high school or college students looking for summer jobs or clinical hours.
When is it offered?
The program is offered twice each year in Fall and Spring.
The program is 4 Nights/Week, Mondays through Thursdays, 5:00-9:30pm, for 10 weeks.
