Natasha Noorani 'RONAQ' Concept Design

RONAQ is the first full-length studio album by Pakistani music artist and ethnomusicologist Natasha Noorani. It was released on November 2nd, 2023, and contains ten tracks. The album title 'RONAQ' is an Urdu word that (while not having a direct equivalent) roughly translates to celebration, hubbub, light, and festivity.

This concept design is a redesign of the RONAQ album, done in the style of Korean pop music album marketing and paraphernalia. It amalgamates a local artist's work with a foreign branding style as a brand creation study.

All materials in this design were not used for commercial purposes.

It is customary for a kpop album to have two (or more) unique concept versions (separate from the primary marketing) that focus on individual songs or deeper themes. These versions often have distinct visuals and titles that correspond to said visuals. Most times, there are separate inclusions made for each version, including but not limited to, posters, photobooks, photocards, stationery, etc. Fans can opt for a certain version of the album, or even purchase both versions to show their support for the artist.

Photocards are a staple inclusion for any kpop album, often taking precedence over any other item. Frequently traded and valued at vastly different prices, the designs always feature a more natural, non-manufactured, personable artist photo/selfie and a relevant album concept design, with a handwritten message of encouragement from the artist on the back.
