The Washington Chapter AY Scholarship is sponsored by Chapter AY for the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Tacoma, WA. P.E.O. is an international philanthropic organization that promotes educational opportunities for women. In awarding scholarships, the committee will consider academic merit, financial need, career goals, and service to others, as demonstrated by the applicant's work or family history and/or community service activities.
Eligibility
A student is eligible to apply if she:
Is a United States citizen and from the Puget Sound area (raised in the area, a present resident of the area, or a full-time student in the area)
Is a matriculated student currently attending an accredited school of higher education and is within two years of completing her degree
Has completed at least one semester or two quarters of post high school education at time of application
Will be enrolled as a full time student (as defined by the applicant’s school) in an accredited school for the fall term
Has a 3.0 or above G.P.A. (4.0 scale) for all college work taken in the past four years
Scholarships may be awarded to students attending a community or technical college, a four-year college or university, or a graduate program.

Applications must be received by April 30 to be considered. Recipients will be notified by June 1. The scholarship will be distributed in September for the following academic year. Applicants may reapply annually. The applications of women who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be evaluated on a non-discriminatory basis without consideration of age, race, national origin, religious affiliation or disability.

A copy of your transcript for all college work, including the most recent term. This may be an unofficial internet copy but it must be clearly legible.
