Sept, 2020: Added a live streaming page. There have been other updates which I have not logged here, as well. I'll try to do better.
October, 2019: Put many photos into Powerpoint presentations to make them more organized. Also added the FCC License search page. KB8SCR, Dave put the P-25 digital repeater in Fort Recovery into operation. Works well. Was able to carry on a QSO from Decatur (about 30 miles) with a handheld P-25 radio connected to a dual band base antenna.
August 6, 2019: Added the LIVE National Weather Service map and rearranged and renamed emergency pages on the website to make info easier to find.
May, 2019: Added Contest Calendar directly to one of our webpages. Should remain up-to-date all of the time now (I hope). Also, look for live feed (or probably pre-recorded most recent net).
March 2019...way more to be posted...
December 18, 2018: Many more updates to report. As of about Dec 13, we created a new section called "Become a Ham." Previously, it fell under the "Welcome" page. As of Dec 17, we have two study pages, each with 9 lessons that are devoted to Technician and General license study, with the Extra study guide coming soon. They ideally require the ARRL Licensing books for the particular section, but those are usually easily acquired.
December 1, 2018: Chirp image files updated and will still need some correcting and additions. Almost got them right. Problems with the MURS frequencies listed were noted.
August 14, 2018: Many updates since last logged. Removed all past recorded nets but they're being streamed and archived on Facebook. Added a number of pages, as well, to make the site more useful. Look around!
May 17, 2018: Added a page called Chirp under the Repeaters section. This page contains several image files for radios that are compatible with Chirp. The primary image file will contain local repeaters and some simplex frequencies, the others a diverse variety of public service and other frequencies.
March 27, 2018: Added an eBook called The Wireless Experimental Manual by Elmer E. Bucher, the updated version from 1920 (original was from 1917). Added a conversion calculator to one of PGs How-to pages.
March 22, 2018: New page added, "The Fox Hunt" and changed the name of the PG Pages to "How-to's and Interviews" since it looks like there may be a lot of stuff coming on board during the next few months.
March 4 - March 9, 2018: Major page location changes and a new page was completed, "Become a Ham." Updates on text within a few of the pages, as well. Added a QRZ search box (opens a whole new window when you press "search).
February 27, 2018: Created new logo. Still working on it a bit, but it seems like a decent design. Always up for new ideas, though. Added weather widget on the footer of each page and a solar/terrestrial widget on the home page. Will be looking for widgets that will give you more info and a reason to visit our site.
February 25, 2018: Added a "Feedback" page. Keep 'em coming, folks! Acknowledging a new search icon at the top of each page added by Google Sites and a new menu design for all sizes of displays except for cell phones (they already had it).
February 17, 2018: Peeled the "Site News" from the home page and created a separate page for it just under the home page. Trying to unclutter a bit.
February 15, 2018: Got a Google Voice number for W9JCA.COM. That number is 765-329-2181. It should be a local call for regular home phones anywhere in the Jay County area. Haven't decided how to use that number yet since the outgoing message is limited to about a minute. If we can't use it, that's fine, too.
February 6, 2018: Posted first JCARC Tuesday net recording to the Past Events page. This should be a regular event in the future, but don't hold us to that.
January 24, 2018: Updated the look of the home page. Did away with the logo that didn't seem to fit the site as it is now, sort of stuck out there. We probably don't need one for the website, but if I come up with something decent, then maybe. Also redid the menu system. The website has grown a bit so it's a good thing.
January 3, 2018: Changed the look of the handmade navigation bar at the top of each page just under the page heading. It now has a Next Page feature whenever it's possible to do so (the last > will have an underscore showing that it's a link). Unfortunately, at this time Google's New Sites lacks a decent navigation bar and it was created to make the site a bit easier to navigate.
December 27, 2017: Added a new main page called "Emergency Info." which includes training info for NWS (National Weather Service) Skywarn Spotter Program and FEMA. The printable version of Jay County Emergency Net Protocols was moved from Home to Emergency Info, as well. Two other pages were moved from Home, as well. "Nearby Hamfests" was moved to Activities and "Local Area Nets" to Repeaters. The New Google Sites now has FOOTERS! YES! Saves LOTS of time. Anything typed in there will appear over all pages. And there's a way to turn them off for pages that don't need them!
December 19, 2017: Added printer friendly Emergency Repeater Net Protocol page to Home.
December 3, 2017: Major changes to PG's and Ken Smith's pages Added a lot of info and there's more coming.
November 28, 2017: Deleted the Swap Meet page. No posts since August and no interest. We do have a Facebook page that will take the place and is much more capable. Also updated some of the photos in the photo albums. Deleted the page that explained the problem with the Pennville repeater.
November 14, 2017: Added photo album page. Working on adding photos from the W9JCA photo album from 2006 to about 2007. Added interviews from Ken Smith.
September 8, 2017: Finished a few pages and added some. Contests and Events, Nearby Hamfests, Local Area Nets (finally got a start on that one), and Parade of Lights (under past club events in Activities). Thanks for that, Dave Wood.
September 1, 2017: Added recorded podcast from PG on PG's Pages.
August 8, 2017: Added a number of pages over the last several weeks. Added a few navigation links to those pages, as well. Will make the pages more consistent with each other and make them look like part of the same site.
July 17, 2017: Major change in site navigation. Since the "New Google Sites" doesn't allow much in the way of sub pages, took a few pages off of the navigation bar and created links on appropriate pages so the navigation bar wouldn't be so confusing. It's a lot easier to get around the site this way. Some of the text edited for clarity. Major edits to Activities page.
Created YouTube upload site and video now posted on Field Day 2017 page. Audio of ham interview also included along with article. We could not get permission to use the article, but it's good info and links to the original article on Yahoo's Tech News page are included. We'll leave it here as long as they allow.
Created Facebook Page (link on the bottom of home page)
July 2, 2017: Changes to some text on the home page.
