Privacy Policy for VX Player

This Privacy Policy explains how the VX Player Android app , handles information when you use it. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Summary
Your videos are played on your device and are never uploaded by us.
Your watch history and settings are stored only on your device.
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers as described below.

To find the videos on your device, list them by folder and play them.
Write storage
(WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, only on Android 9 and older)
To rename or delete videos when you ask the App to. On Android 10 and newer, Android shows its own confirmation dialog for every rename or delete instead.
Internet and network state
To show ads, to check for app updates through Google Play, to play online video links you choose to open, and for the anonymous usage count described in section 4.
Brightness, volume, audio boost and picture-in-picture work inside the App and do not need any additional permission.
3. Information stored only on your device
The following data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:
Watch history: the names and locations of videos you played, how far you watched and when. It is used to resume playback and show "History". You can remove items from the History screen.
Preferences: settings such as sort order, auto play next and time display.
Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage in Android settings deletes all of this data.
4. Anonymous usage count
When the App starts, it sends a random identifier generated by the App on first launch (it is not linked to your name, account, phone number or advertising ID) together with the App name to our server. We use this only to count how many devices actively use the App. No information about your videos, your history or your device contents is sent. The identifier is reset if you clear the App's storage or reinstall it.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model, operating system version, app interactions with ads, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's policies:
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
6. Google Play services
The App uses Google Play's in-app update service to tell you when a new version is available. This is handled by Google Play under the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Sharing your videos
When you use "Share", the App hands the selected video to the app you pick in Android's share menu. What happens to the video after that is controlled by that app. We never receive a copy.
8. Data sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the third-party services listed above (Google AdMob and Google Play), we do not share any information with third parties.
9. Data security
Data sent over the network by the App uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored on your device is kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
10. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
11. Your choices
Delete your watch history from the History screen at any time.
Clear all App data from Android Settings > Apps > VX Player > Storage.
Withdraw storage permission from Android Settings > Apps > VX Player > Permissions.
Control personalized ads from your device's ad settings.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
