VR for the Social Good

Fall 2018 Class

This class is open to students of any major and any classification (from freshmen to graduate students). No prerequisites and no programming knowledge is required.

Students learn how to message using Virtual Reality. Then they work with researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to apply VR to social good problems.


August 28th - October 2nd - Assignment #1 - learn Unity on your own and develop your first social good message using VR

September 25th - Pitch Day! Seekers (Researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs) pitch VR project ideas to the class.

Solvers (students) self-form teams of four to work on a project they select from projects pitched. Priority will be based on performance on learning tutorials and Assignment #1.

October 2nd - December 14th - Assignment #2 - Use VR to improve the social good.

December 14th 10 AM - noon - Demo Day!
