Spring Break Rescheduled to Accommodate Senior Survival Week.

Since the very start, Vista Del Lago High School has had difficulty scheduling its Senior Ball. After contacting the Holy Venue of Venues nearly four months since the beginning of the school year, Head of the Student Government H. S. received the dreaded news that Vista's long standing rival FHS had stolen the date of their planned school activity. Even though the event had already been added to the calendar or that day, Vista could not have any venue other than the Holy Venue of Venues on the golf course, so the most reasonable course of action would be to blindly reschedule it for the next weekend. To H. S.'s surprise, E.C, Vista's Music Teacher, had scheduled a trip to Universal Studios for her band and orchestra students. However, this is hardly a concern as to only 30 seniors were planning on going on the trip. Says H. S., "Well, you can't please everyone, it's about time these students learned about utilitarianism. As long as it overall benefits the majority, why try and please a minority? None of my student government students will be affected by it, so E.C. just needs to figure something out."

Using this same philosophy, H.S. has scheduled the Senior Survival Week to be during the former spring break. The new spring break will be added in as an extra six days of summer vacation. "As we have moved spring break," she says, "This week and extra Monday will now be full school days, and students will be expected to be there, or face the consequences of truancy. Parents who have made plans for this week will need to reschedule."
