Friends of Vox Pop

Get to know some of those who have helped and/or inspired us along the way.

Malcolm is the owner and operator of Benjamin Bros 19th Hole food truck. He’s been providing his services and his delicious smoked potatoes at Vox Pop events since our second event. You won’t meet a friendlier food truck operator in all of Tulsa! Be sure to support his business when you see him around town.

One of the main visions of Vox Pop is to inspire our participants to imagine a world where the beauty of art spills over into our communities and we all feel empowered to create something better than what now exists. In December 2017, we hosted Iron Gate to share with our participants the work that they do in eliminating food insecurity in Tulsa. Many local artists presented visual, musical, and literary art, which was followed by a silent auction in which all proceeds went to this significant work. We continue to support Iron Gate through another organization that we partner with, Tango Tab.

After viewing a screening at Vox Pop in February 2018 of their heart-wrenching, but beautifully-inspiring documentary, Grey Matter, Poetic Justice became a project that we wanted to promote and support all that we can. We encourage you to look into this important work being done with Oklahoma's incarcerated females, and attend a screening of their documentary on their Into the Heartland Tour in which they are endeavoring to show the film in all 77 counties of Oklahoma before the November 2018 elections.

Ty's good friend from college started this unique nonprofit a couple of years ago. Download the app and when you check into 100's of restaurants, a meal is donated to a local food bank. Additionally, a group of loving folks gather on the first Saturday of the month at Blue Rose Cafe to for an event they call Feed the City, making hundreds of sandwich meals which Iron Gate distributes to those in need.

Our good friend, Chris Skillern, has donated hours of skilled labor to helping Vox Pop create a brand image. We so appreciated his work for us, we wanted to recommend him to you! Check out his company Tulsey Type for all your design and print needs.
